Ron Nolland
A Plattsburgh native, Ron finds many of his images close to home, and feels that if we look enough, more can be found than meets the eye. His photography has grown from family pictures and nature shots taken while walking his dog Sophie along the Saranac River, to exhibiting his work at various gallery spaces in the area.
Besides participating in all of the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts Member Shows since 2005, Ron has also participated in many of the member and group exhibits at the Plattsburgh Public Library’s Hale Walter Gallery. After his first solo exhibit at Valcour Imaging, four of Ron’s photographs were added to the permanent art collection displayed at Plattsburgh International Airport. Solo exhibits at both the Clinton Community College Alumni Gallery and the Hale Walter Gallery were well received, and both of his submitted works were chosen for the 2009 Juried Show at NCCCA. Ron has been the recipient of two SOS Grants from the Arts Council for the Northern Adirondacks, designed to help further the careers of emerging artists. He is a founding member of the Artist’s Co-op at Stonybrook Pottery and exhibits at their gallery. His large black and white work is a permanent feature of the new Conference Room at the Inn at Smithfield. He is grateful for the encouragement and support of everyone involved in the various exhibits and grants, and thankful for all the help in bringing his photography to this point. More of Ron’s work can be seen on his personal gallery. Or email him at rnolland@conroyandconroy.com
Ron enjoys time with his family, bike riding, usually with his camera, spinning at the Y and baking bread. He wishes there was more time.
